Edward “PoetED” Sanders, Jr. is a music producer, pianist, audio engineer, and educator whose work is rooted in emotion, storytelling, and authenticity. Under the name PoetED, he creates music that reflects lived experience—bridging technical mastery with soulful expression.
His creative journey began with poetry at age 13, where words became his first instrument. That foundation later evolved into music as he taught himself piano by ear, developing an intuitive relationship with harmony, rhythm, and feel. This early blend of language and sound continues to shape PoetED’s musical voice—one that values intention, space, and emotional truth over trends.
PoetED’s career was further refined through years of professional studio experience working alongside Grammy Award–winning producer Nate “Danja” Hills and renowned mix engineer Marcella “Ms. Lago” Araica. These experiences grounded him in the highest levels of music production and engineering, strengthening his ability to move fluidly between creative vision and technical execution.
He is a graduate of The Los Angeles Recording School as a Certified Audio Engineer and studied Jazz Piano Performance at Los Angeles City College, where he was a four-time recipient of the Herb Alpert Scholarship. His work spans major-label and independent projects across hip-hop, R&B, pop, and electronic music, contributing to recordings for both legendary and contemporary artists.
At its core, PoetED is about meaning. Whether producing, performing, engineering, or teaching, Edward’s mission remains the same: to create music that resonates deeply and to help others discover their voice through sound.
